Working Experience and Education
Since 2010, my focus has been commercial video direction for business owners, with the intent of helping them to promote their products and their overall brand. In my spare time, I am also a freelance writer. Much of my writing shares information, tips, and ideas about shooting and producing video. I still continue to write, but since 2018 I have been doing much of my work with Wondershare Filmora as a freelancer.
I pursued a double major in English and Production/Directing and completed my studies in 2008. I graduated with my English degree from the College of Letters & Science at the University of California, Los Angeles, and my Production/Directing degree is from the School of Theater, Film, and Television at the same university.
As a result of my double major and my training, videography has been the focal point of my work, specifically in the commercial realm. I greatly enjoy directing and shooting videos, but I also understand the value of helping future videographers to do the same.
Since 2015, the majority of my writings have been intended to current videographers as well as those who aspire to be a videographer with the complexities of shooting and producing film. My focus is on animated video, product videos, brand videos, and how to use modern video devices.
I was born in New Zealand, and when I was 6 years old, we moved to Los Angeles, where I grew up. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my friends, discussing film, and enjoying/discussing food. I believe that life is the best place to find inspiration and the beauty of film, and so I also like traveling in order to get those experiences. I do the majority of my work on the road, during the weekends and at night.
