What Is March Madness ?

March Madness is the annual college basketball tournament the NCAA hosts that spans from mid-March to early April. It starts in 1939 and becomes one of the most anticipated and watched events in all of sports.

The NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament is a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams that compete in seven rounds for the national championship. The penultimate round is known as the Final Four.

What Is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday is the day when the Selection Committee reveals the full NCAA tournament bracket, including all teams and all seeds. For March Madness 2024, Selection Sunday is Sunday, March 17. The 68-team fields for the men's and women's NCAA DI basketball tournaments will be released during selection shows. The men's tournament will be revealed at 6 pm ET on CBS, and the women's tournament announcement at 8 pm ET on ESPN.
