How to Use Keyframe Graphs in Filmora?
What you need to prepare:
- A computer (Windows or macOS)
- Your video materials.
- Filmora video editor
Import Your Clip
To begin, you should launch Filmora on your device and click the "New Project" button. Import your desired clip through the "Import Media" category in the editing window. Once imported, bring your clip into the timeline track.
Split the Clip
After adding the clip to the timeline, you should split it into two parts. You can accomplish this by positioning the cursor at the desired split point. Use the "Split" function or the corresponding keyboard shortcut Ctrl + B.
Access the Clip Settings
Click on the first segment of the split clip to open its settings panel. Within the settings panel, go to the "Basic" option, where you will find the "Scale" option.
Set Initial Keyframes
Position the cursor at the clip's start, then change the X and Y values of the "Scale" option. You can set them to a medium range, approximately 400%. Add a keyframe by clicking the corresponding keyframe button. You can also use the appropriate keyboard shortcut Alt + Left Click.
Create Transition Keyframes
Move the cursor a few seconds forward and change the X and Y values of the "Scale" option to 100%. Add another keyframe at this point. Then, move the cursor to a position near the end of the clip and set the X and Y values to around 600%. Add a third keyframe at this location.
Adjust Second Clip Keyframes
Repeat the process for the second segment of the split clip. Move the cursor to the start of the second clip, set the X and Y values to 100%, and add a keyframe. Then, get the cursor a few seconds forward, change the X and Y values to 139%, and add another keyframe.
Refine Keyframe Graphs
You can also fine-tune the animation. Open the keyframe panel by clicking the clip and selecting the "Keyframe" option. Click on the arrow and switch to the "Ease In" preset. Adjust the position of the sticks within the graph. It lets you control the smoothness and sharpness of the transition. The further the sticks are positioned to the left, the sharper the transition will be.
Review and Finalize
Finally, we have modified the keyframe graphs to our desired settings. You have the choice to experiment with different keyframe values and graph adjustments. You can review the output by playing the clip in the preview window. You can finalize the project and export or render the video if you are satisfied with the result.
