Left out some stuff. 1. To "import" a clip, all you need to do is drag it to the timeline from wherever it is. No need to go through the Import fx. 2. For effects, you can also access them directly from the clip and also from the track level, so three ways to access them. 3. Exporting a project is really for EDLs. You would want to choose the Render As option for actually creating the video. 4. If you want to "unlink" when you are importing your media, if you Right Click when importing, you have the option to import just the video or the audio track, so no need to unlink them later. Also when you right click on the Tracks themselves, you have options to easily duplicate and delete tracks, including audio tracks that are "linked" to a video track. 5. Also, if you want to Insert a video track, simply hit the short cut CTRL + SHIFT + Q, and it's done.
