Drag the video to the timeline.

Click and drag the Scissors Icon to a spot where you want to make a cut, and then simply click on it to split a video into two parts. You can repeat the process as many times as you want.

After making several cuts and identifying certain portions of the footage that you want to remove, simply select them in the timeline by clicking on them and then tapping the Delete button on your keyboard.

When you delete a certain portion of a video, you will want to connect the remaining footage. Click on any clip and drag it left or right according to your preference to find the ideal place for each clip in the timeline. In the end, all clips should be connected.

You have now made a cut, and you will notice that the scenes change abruptly. You might want to keep it that way, but you can also utilize a better option, which is to add transitions. Go to the Transitions tab, pick a transition that you like, and drag it to the timeline between two media clips.

Then, if you want to add video effects, simply navigate to the Effects tab and repeat the process. Pick something that you find interesting and drag it to the timeline above the video clip, making sure to place it in an adequate moment.
