PowerTool Editing - Tilt-shift/Mosaic/Faceoff

In this guide you will learn how to use the Tilt-shift, Mosaic, and Face-off features in Filmora.

1. To apply Tilt-shift effect

    • Go to Effects in the top menu and type tilt-shift into the search bar, or scroll through the effects until you find UTILITY. Click it and then choose Tilt-Shift-Circle and Tilt-Shift-Linear.

      • Drag the tilt-shift effect you want onto the clip you want to apply it to in the timeline.
      • Double click on the effect in the timeline to launch the Control Panel. In this panel, drag the sliders to easily adjust the size and intensity of the feature. Click OK when you’re done.

    2. To apply Mosaic effect

      • In the Effects menu, choose BACKGROUND BLUR under FILTERES. Find the ‘Mosaic’ effect and drag it onto the clip you want to apply it to in the timeline.
      • Double click on the Mosaic effect in the timeline to launch the Control Panel. Then, use the slider to adjust the Blur amount and Blur type.
      • Drag the Mosaic to where you want it in the preview.

    3. To apply Face Off effect

    The difference between the Mosaic effect and the Face-off effect is that with the Mosaic effect you will be able to blur a stationary portion of your video clip, whereas with Face-off you will be able to cover moving faces. Here’s how.

      • Go to Effects in the top menu and type face-off into the search bar, or scroll through the effects until you find UTILITY. Then choose Face-off.

      • Drag the Face-Off effect onto the clip you want to apply it to in the timeline. Then, choose either the blurred effect or one of the replacement images. You can preview what your video looks like with the Face-Off effect by clicking the Play button in the Preview Window. Click OK when you’re done.
      • If you want to add your own image as a face-off cover, save it to this folder on your computer: i \Application\Wondershare Filmora for Mac.app\Contents\Resource\FaceOffImg.
