Scene Detection in Filmora for Mac
Modern video editing becomes much faster when long footage is automatically broken into meaningful segments. Filmora’s Scene Detection feature uses smart analysis to scan an entire video and divide it into separate scenes. It helps users quickly locate important moments while removing unwanted parts such as shaky shots, blurred frames, or unnecessary transitions. This makes the editing workflow smoother, especially for interviews, travel clips, and long recordings.
Steps to Use Scene Detection in Filmora for Mac
Filmora allows you to automatically detect scenes and organize them for easier editing on the timeline. Follow the steps mentioned below to learn how to perform this feature:
Step 1. Create a New Project and Import Video
Launch Filmora on your Mac and select New Project from the home screen. Import your video into the media library and drag it onto the timeline to begin editing.

Step 2. Activate Scene Detection Tool
Right-click on the video clip placed in the timeline and choose the Scene Detection option from the menu. This opens the detection tool where Filmora prepares to analyze your footage.

Step 3. Analyze Video for Scenes
In the pop-up window, click the Detect button. Filmora will automatically scan the entire video and divide it into separate scene clips based on visual changes.

Step 4. Add and Edit Scenes on Timeline
Once detection is complete, click Add to Timeline to place all segmented clips into your project. Review each scene and remove unwanted sections by selecting and deleting them.
