Steps to Detach Audio in Filmora for Mac

Filmora also supports extracting multiple audio tracks from videos, making it easier to manage layered sound recordings within professional editing projects. Follow the instructions below to separate audio from video clips:

Step 1. Create a New Project and Import Video

Launch Wondershare Filmora on your Mac and click New Project from the startup screen. Import the audio file and drag it onto the timeline for editing.

Step 2. Separate Audio from Video

Right-click the video clip in the timeline and select the Detach Audio option from the menu. Filmora will automatically place the extracted audio onto a separate audio track below the video.

Step 3. Edit or Remove the Audio Track

After detaching the sound, you can independently adjust, trim, replace, or delete the audio track without modifying the linked video footage.
