Add and Modify Audio on Mac
Audio plays a major role in making videos more immersive and professional. Wondershare Filmora for Mac provides a complete set of audio editing tools that allow users to import music, voice recordings, and sound effects while customizing them with precision.
Users can control volume levels, trim unnecessary parts, balance channels, apply fade effects, and enhance clarity through equalizer settings. Filmora also includes a built-in audio library containing royalty-free music and sound effects for quick access during editing.
Steps to Add and Edit Audio in Filmora for Mac
Filmora makes it easy to insert, customize, and organize audio within your projects. Follow the steps below to work with audio efficiently:
Step 1. Open Filmora and Start a New Project
Launch Filmora on your Mac and choose the New Project option from the startup screen to access the editing workspace.

Step 2. Import Audio and Place It on the Timeline
Use the Import Media option to browse audio files from your Mac or drag them directly into the media library. After importing, move the audio clip onto the timeline for editing.

Add Audio from Filmora’s Built-In Library
Navigate to the Audio tab from the top menu to access Filmora’s collection of background music and sound effects. Select any track and either drag it to the timeline or use the + icon to insert it into the project.

Customize Audio Settings
Double-click the audio clip in the timeline to open audio controls on the right-side panel. From here, adjust options such as volume, pitch, fade-in, fade-out, balance, and equalizer settings to improve sound quality.

Remove Audio from the Timeline
Click the audio track you want to remove and press the Delete key, or right-click the clip and choose the Delete option from the menu.

Save Audio to Favorites
Right-click any music or sound effect within the library and select the Star option to add it to your favorites for easier access later.
