Fine-Tune Selected Areas With Color Mask

Build the effect in layers, then shape the mask until the color adjustment appears exactly where you want it:

Step 1. Create a Grading Layer

Select the video on the Timeline and open the Color Mask panel. In Layers, click Add Grading Layer to create a separate layer for your color changes.

Step 2. Shape the Color Adjustment

Open Curves and modify the curve to adjust brightness, contrast, or individual color channels on the grading layer. If you want to keep the same curve setup for later use, click Save as Custom.

Step 3. Define the Mask Area

Go back to Layers and choose a mask shape such as Rectangle, Circle, or the custom drawing option. Use Mask Settings to change Position, Scale, Rotate, Width, Height, Radius, Blur Strength, and Opacity. Enable Invert Mask when you want the adjustment to affect the area outside the mask.

Step 4. Check the Look and Export

Preview the clip to see how the grading layer and mask work together. Make any final changes to the curve or mask settings, then click Export once the result looks right.
